Privacy Policy

Effective date: 16 April 2026 · Last updated: 16 April 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Darts Scorer mobile app (the “App”) and this website (the “Site”) collect, how that data is used, and the choices you have. The App is developed and operated by Michael Chernikov, an individual developer based in Austria.

Summary

  • The App does not collect any data that personally identifies you.
  • Your games, player names, and statistics are stored only on your device.
  • Free users see advertising provided by Google AdMob. Subscribers see no ads.
  • Subscription state is managed by Apple (StoreKit) or Google (Play Billing) — we do not store your payment details.
  • If you write to us through the feedback form on this Site, your message is emailed to a private support inbox. We do not keep it in a database.

Data the App collects on your device

The App stores the following information locally, in an on-device SQLDelight database. It never leaves your device:

  • Player names that you type in.
  • Completed games and their scores.
  • Aggregated statistics (games played, wins, average per throw, etc.).
  • App preferences (language, handedness, selected game type, etc.).

If you uninstall the App, this data is removed with it. There is no cloud backup, sync, or account system in v1.

Advertising (free tier only)

If you are using the App on the free tier, the App displays advertising served by Google AdMob. AdMob is operated by Google and, as part of serving ads, may collect information such as your device advertising identifier, IP address, coarse location, and general device information. This data is used by Google to select and measure ads. Google’s own privacy policy describes this processing in detail: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

On iOS, the App requests permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline tracking, AdMob will serve non-personalised ads. You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset or opt out of personalised advertising in your device’s system settings under Ads.

Users with an active subscription (Pro) or a recognised legacy Full/Lite purchase (iOS Classic) do not see ads and the AdMob SDK is not invoked for them.

Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple StoreKit or Google Play Billing. When you subscribe, the payment, receipt, billing address, and renewal state are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We receive only an opaque confirmation that your subscription is active for the current device. We do not see, store, or process your credit card number or any payment information.

To manage or cancel a subscription, use Apple’s Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS, or the Google Play Store’s Subscriptions screen on Android.

Feedback form on this Site

If you send us a message via the support form, the following information is delivered by email to a private support inbox:

  • The fields you filled in (name, email, issue type, app version, platform, and message).
  • The time of submission.
  • Your IP address and browser user-agent (for abuse prevention only — recorded in the email, not retained in a database).

Email addresses are optional. If you leave the email field blank, we will not be able to reply to you, but your message will still be read. The feedback form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated submissions; Turnstile runs in your browser and does not show a puzzle in most cases.

Your message is sent using MailChannels, an email-relay service that Cloudflare Pages Functions use to deliver mail. No copy of your message is stored in a database on our side.

Legacy iOS users (data migration)

If you are an existing user of the earlier CoreData-backed iOS version, the App migrates your saved games and statistics into the new on-device database on first launch. This migration runs entirely on your device — no data is sent anywhere during the process.

Analytics on this Site

This Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect any personally identifying information. It reports aggregate visits, referrers, and country-level statistics to us via the Cloudflare dashboard.

The App itself contains no third-party analytics SDK — no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Crashlytics, no user-behaviour trackers.

Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the feedback form, please contact us via the form and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because the App stores your data only on your device, the primary way to exercise rights of access, correction, or deletion is to open the App and edit or delete data directly, or to uninstall the App. For data you sent via the feedback form, you can write to us through the same form asking us to delete your email; because feedback is stored only in a mail inbox, deletion means deleting that email thread.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and change the “Last updated” date above when the policy changes. Material changes (new data categories, new third parties, new advertising behaviour) are also reflected in the App Store Privacy Nutrition Labels and the Google Play Data Safety form.
